Base Interface

The base interface is configured as a dual star in an Ethernet network environment. The two Gb
Ethernet hubs integrated in the MF106 provide redundant network connection via the base
interface. The base interface is routed from each of the hubs to both blades in the shelf in dual
star topology. The protocol is 10/100/1000 BaseT Ethernet. Connections are composed of four
differential signal pairs (one row) called base channel (of the zone 2 connector).
The base interface is fully compliant to the PICMG 3.0 R3.0 Specification. Therefore, details are
not described within this chapter.
For more information, see the MF106 Installation and Use and the PICMG 3.0 R3.0 Specification.
