WARNING
Danger to personnel and environment from fluids that are hazardous to health.
Ensure that the measuring device and all cavities are free of fluid residues that are hazardous to

health or the environment, e.g. substances that have permeated into crevices or diffused through
plastic.
Before returning a measuring device, carry out the following measures:
• Remove all clinging residues. Pay particular attention to crevices and grooves for seals into which
the fluid can penetrate. This is particularly important if the substance is hazardous to health, e.g.
flammable, toxic, caustic or carcinogenic.
• Costs incurred for waste disposal and injury due to inadequate cleaning will be charged to the
owner-operator.
• Complete all fields of the "Declaration of Contamination" form and enclose it with the returned
device.
Only then can Endress+Hauser transport, examine and repair a returned device.
• If necessary, enclose special handling regulations, such as a safety data sheet according to (EC)
regulation No. 1907/2006 REACH.
• Additional information:
– The chemical and physical properties of the fluid
– A description of the application
– A description of the error that has occurred (specify error code where applicable)
– Operating hours of the measuring device
