Chassis
Installing
The height of the swingarm pin relative to the
chassis is adjusted with special inserts installed in
the respective seats in the chassis. The hole is
offset by -5 mm (-0.197 in) relative to the centreline
of the insert, as a result the swingarm is in the low
position.
There are four inserts, subdivided as follows:
•
Inner/outer
•
Right/left
THE TWO LEFT SIDE SWINGARM PIN INSERTS ARE THE
SAME.
THE TWO RIGHT SIDE SWINGARM PIN INSERTS ARE DIF-
FERENT.
•
Refit the swingarm height adjustment inserts if removed, bearing in mind that the arrow must
face downward.
WARNING
PAY PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE DIRECTION OF THE INSERTS WHEN REFITTING. IN-
CORRECT ASSEMBLY MAY CAUSE SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE ARROW MUST
FACE DOWNWARD.
•
Spread a light coating of lubricating grease along the entire length of the swingarm pin.
•
Fit the adjustment bush into its seat and tighten by hand.
CAUTION
THE ADJUSTMENT BUSH MUST NOT PROTRUDE BEYOND THE INNER EDGE OF THE FRAME.
•
Supporting the front end of the swing-
arm, move it into a position which
aligns the holes while simultaneously
fitting the pin completely into place.
•
Ensure that the hexagonal profile on
the head of the pin is engaged correctly
in the hexagonal inner seat in the ad-
justment bush.
•
Fit the ring nut and hand-tighten by a
few turns.
