Setting External Routes

The ANG requires that a default static route be established to the Gateway
router from the External interface to enable traffic to reach the Internet. The
external interface may reside outside a firewall and offers unfiltered Internet
access.
To set up an external route, perform the following steps:
Aurorean Installation & Service Guide
3
Enter an IP address for the Gateway router on this subnet to which
the ANG will connect. This IP address must be reachable from the
internal interface of the ANG.
4
In the Reachable Subnet fields, type a starting IP Address and
Subnet Mask to define a subnet.
Packets received by the ANG are statically routed to the gateway you
specify. To forward all packets to the gateway where there is no
reachable "next hop" address for a packet, enter an address of 0.0.0.0
and a subnet mask of 0.0.0.0.
CAUTION
Configuring a default static route (0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0) on the Trusted interface
of the ANG disables Intelligent Client (ICR) routing. We do not
recommend disabling ICR.
5
Click Add Trusted Static Route.
1
Click the External Routes tab in the Routing Configuration window.
The External Routes configuration window appears as shown in
Figure 48.
