Overview

Aurorean Policy Server

Within an Aurorean Virtual Network, the Aurorean Policy Server performs
the following primary tasks:
The two models of Policy Servers, the APS-3000 and APS-7000, are similar in
appearance and features, and differ in capacity and performance. Figure 2
shows the front and rear views of the Servers equipped with standard
hardware features.

! Manages remote user authentication by authenticating users against
user/group databases stored on its own hard drive or by forwarding
authentication requests to an external authentication server, such as a
RADIUS server.
! Maintains log files of activity and alarm messages exchanged
throughout the Aurorean Virtual Network; this information is
viewed from the RiverMaster management application.
! Contains the master TollSaver database, which is customized by the
network administrator and distributed to Aurorean users.
! Maintains the Virtual Network configuration database.
! Maintains all data and Client software upgrade files for Data and
Software Synchronization.
