Monitor Port LED Operation
When the port status indicator is selected to ÒMONÓ the following
deÞnes the operation of the LEDs for ports that are being mirrored.
For ports that have trafÞc mirrored to the monitor port, the LED is on
solid. The status LED for the port which is chosen as the monitor port (the
one you connect the analyzer to) will blink.
If address mirroring is selected, only the port which receives the mirrored
frames is lit.

System LEDs

Two LEDs provide information about the system. The LEDs are Power
and CPU. Power indicates that the deviceÕs power supply is operating
properly. The CPU LED indicates that the deviceÕs CPU is operational.
For both of these LEDs Green indicates good and off indicates a failure.

2.2 INSTALLING AN EPIM

The SmartSTACK Ethernet ELS10-27 provides a slot for a Cabletron EPIM
(Ethernet Port Interface Module). The SmartSTACK Ethernet ELS10-27 is
shipped without an EPIM. To install an EPIM, follow the procedure
below:
1. Remove the plate covering the EPIM slot.
2. Install the EPIM as shown in Figure 2-2. Ensure that the rear
connector is seated Þrmly by tightening the screw mounted to the
EPIM.
