Introduction
With address mirroring, a unicast MAC address and a destination port
are speciÞed. Any time a valid packet is received on any port with that
destination MAC address within the switch, that packet will be
monitored to the destination port. If the address form of the mirror
command is issued multiple times, all unicast MAC addresses selected
will be mirrored. Up to 4 MAC addresses may be mirrored at any one time.
When mirroring is turned off, the previous parameters are still
maintained in non-volatile memory and available if mirroring is
re-enabled. The setting of port mirroring clears any address mirroring
parameters or vice-versa.
Note: Address entries will be flagged so that they do not get aged out of the
database. We will however allow the port on which they are learned to
change.

Applications

your network. In general, a network backbone allows you to distribute
access to important network resources such as Þle or print servers.

SmartSTACK Ethernet ELS10-27 Trunking
SmartSTACK Ethernet ELS10-27 supports one form of port trunking,
StackTRUNK Trunking.
SmartSTACK Ethernet ELS10-27 supports a single trunk group of up to 3
trunked ports. The group can be composed of only the 10/100 Mbps
ports. Trunked ports have the following characteristics:
¥ Learned unicast trafÞc destined to one of the trunked ports shall be
distributed evenly between all ports in the trunk group using the same
algorithm as the LynxSwitch product.
¥ Unknown addresses and broadcast/multicast trafÞc shall be
forwarded only to a single port within the trunk group according to the
trunking algorithm.
