6.2 REPLACE THE PARKING BRAKE CABLE

Replace the parking brake cable
(1) brake mechanism, (2) brake cable, (3) clamp, (4) shackle, (5) clamp nut, (6) thimble
PROCEDURE
• Hitch trailer to tractor. Park trailer and
tractor on level surface.
• Place securing chocks under one
trailer wheel.
• Fully unscrew the bolt of the brake
crank mechanism (1) - figure (6.2).
• Loosen the nuts (5) of U-shaped
clamps (3).
• Dismantle shackles (6), clamps and
cable (2).
• Clean the parking brake components.
