Notes on installation

Qualified personnel
The installation must be carried out by qualified personnel who is trained in electrical engineering and
have been instructed in accident prevention measures.
During the installation work avoid at all costs that ...
ƒ Screws, cable remnants or other foreign objects drop into the device
ƒ Moisture enters into the device
DANGER!
NOTICE

DANGER TO LIFE DUE TO ELECTRICAL VOLTAGE
IGNORING THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN INJURY OR
DEATH.
ƒ Never wire or disconnect electrical connections while they are live!
Always disconnect the device from the mains before carrying out
any work. Even 10 minutes after the power supply is switched off,
dangerously high voltages ≥ 50 V (capacitor charge) can still be
present. Therefore, always check that there is no voltage.
ƒ Only work on the device when the DC link voltage has dropped
to less than 50 V residual voltage (to be measured on the DC link
busbar).
ƒ Hazardous voltage can be present on the device without visual or
acoustic signals/indications on the device (e.g. if mains voltage is
applied to terminal X8 and there is no switch-mode power supply to
X7).
ƒ Follow the instructions of the warning label on the device (see front
panel).
When installing the supply unit within a JM-3000 multi-axis automation
system, the operating instructions of the other devices (servo amplifier,
