Multitest 0.5d, 1d & 2.5d
Service and Repair Manual
Error 05 – Internal communication fault. - SPI reception incorrect, check the SPI and
RS232 looms.
Error 06 – Firmware upgrade required / Motor Control PCB EEPROM Write error.
Replacement front panel PCB, possibly a faulty chip (U4 on Motor PCB). (Also see;
Fault finding and cure section 5).
Error 07 – Motor Control PCB EEPROM Read error, possibly a faulty chip (U4 on
Motor PCB).
Error 08 – Stand reverse and limit switch are set too close together. i.e. after a stand
reverse the test stand hits the limit switch too soon. Move the limit switch collet
further from the point where the stand reverses.
The Error 8 message happens when the Stand Reverse signal coincides with the limit
switch signal still being active. The Stand Reverse signal pulse lasts about 1 Second.
The limit switch mechanism reflector must be fully clear of the optos in the limit switch
PCB assembly before the Stand Reverse occurs to avoid the error message.
Error 09 – Limit optical switch conflict. – Possible opto fault - Replace 2 x 307-044
OPTO SWITCH OPB625 on 300-148-V01 LIMIT SWITCH ASSY or the limit switches
are set too close - i.e. both trigger.
Error 10 - Front Panel PCB memory write error. (U1 on LCD PCB).
Error 11 - Front Panel PCB memory read error. (U1 on LCD PCB).
Over travelled / Emergency stop
Faulty Emergency Stop Loom.
The emergency stop has two parts a hardware stop circuit and software stop circuit.
The hardware stop circuit and overtravel circuit both use the same signal to trigger a
relay to stop the stand. So if the hardware wire of the Emergency stop loom is
damaged/faulty it will activate the same relay. The software detects this and then
checks to see if it has received a software emergency stop signal.
If it receives also the software emergency signal then it will display E-STOP ERROR.
If it does not receive also the software emergency signal then it will display
OVERTRAVELLED ERROR.
Faulty limit switch assembly.
The error (Over travelled) can also occur if IDC cable has a broken wire or the IDC
cable /connector joint is incorrectly made.
