Multitest 0.5d, 1d & 2.5d

i. Check that all the bolts securing the columns and crosshead
assembly have been correctly tightened and that the motor mounting
bolts are tight.
ii. Shim top crosshead as necessary.
12) Stand fails load test:
i. Check that all the bolts securing the columns and crosshead
assembly have been correctly tightened and that the motor mounting
bolts are tight.
ii. Check the ballscrew locking nut hasn't been over tightened. Retighten
locking nut, back-off ½ a turn for a 1d or 1/3 of a turn for a 2.5d
iii. If all of the above are ok then replace the motor.
13) Stand fails speed test:
i. Check that the stand has been correctly set up. i.e. as a 1 or 2.5 D.
ii. Check that the tachometer is correctly positioned on top of the
ballscrew.
iii. Using a D.V.M check that the motor is being supplied voltage.
iv. Check that the motor tachometer loom has been correctly fitted to the
motor and the motor control PCB.
v. If all of the above are ok then replace the motor.
14) Speed reading is erratic/jumpy or speed is all over the place
when I turn speed dial
i. Check the front panel PCB is connected properly.
ii. Check that the motor tachometer loom has been correctly fitted to the
motor and the motor control PCB. Perform continuity test.
iii. Note the front panel PCB has two capacitors (
) fitted to J9 on the front panel PCB. If these are missing
SM0805 ±10%
(possible on stands before Feb 2009) then the digital pot may not
work properly
