Starting up
9.3 Connect the PMX with a PC (HOST) or via a network
Connect the PMX to a PC/laptop or to a network via the ETHERNET
socket.
Factory settings:
When the computer is powered-up, the PMX obtains the IP address via
− DHCP (automatic address assignment as per RFC2131 and RFC2132)
or
− from the Apipa auto IP range (RFC5735) in the range 169.254.xxx.xxx
The device name set at the factory for the PMX is "pmx", but this can be
changed.
Address assignment strategy :
− Via an IP address that has already been set (not from the factory)
− If no permanent IP address is assigned, the PMX waits for an address from
the DHCP server. If there is no response from a DHCP server, an IP
address is automatically chosen via the RFC5735 auto IP range
− If the PMX is set to DHCP, the PC should also be set to DHCP
