PMX command set (API)

The command set (API) facilitates integration of the PMX into proprietary soft-
ware applications. This enables customized solutions to be implemented.

12.1 Important prerequisites

− The PMX TCP−IP port is 55000
− All the commands are summarized in the list of commands (Chapter 12.2).
− (x) command terminator:
Line feed (LF) or
carriage return/line feed (CRLF)
− (y) Response terminator:
Carriage return/line feed (CRLF)
− Carriage return = decimal 13
Carriage return = decimal 10
− Virtual measurement subchannels use channel 9 (slot 9)
− Virtual digital subchannels (1=dig in, 2=dig out) use channel 10 (slot 10)
− Unknown or incorrect commands are answered with "?"
− A positive Response normally is "0" followed by (y). A negative Response
normally is "?" followed by (y).
Example: TELNET connection
The TELNET protocol running under Windows offers a easy way to use PMX
commands.
The IP addresses of the PMX and the PC (HOST) must match and the
devices have to be connected via Ethernet (if necessary, assign the PMX a
matching IP address with DHCP as default setting).
