B215: Jam in the Bypass Tray
The lead edge was not detected by the Paper Feed Sensor.
Initial Actions
Clear any jammed sheets. Refer to Section 11 in the Xerox® B215/B205 User Guide for
detailed instructions on clearing paper jams.
Do not perform repair activities with the power on or electrical power supplied to the
machine. The machine could activate and cause serious personal injury when the power
is on or electrical power is supplied.

Procedure
Check the position of the jammed sheet. The lead edge reached the Retard Roll.

Enter Diagnostic Mode, GP 1, [Machine Test, Diagnostics Mode, DC330 Component
Control, 102-Sensor, Feed Sens] to block and clear the Feed Sensor. The sensor sig-
nal changes.
Y N
1. Check for an open or short circuit.
2. Install a new Paper Feed Sensor PWB,
In Diagnostics Mode, select: [101-Clutch, Tray 1 Pick up (Feed)] to engage the drive to
pick up paper from tray 1. The clutch engages.
Y N
1. Check for an open or short circuit.
2. Install a new Feed Clutch,
Perform SCP Final Actions.
Check the Paper Feed Sensor Actuator. The actuator moves freely is and undamaged.
