MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES

Battery

CAUTION Never charge a bat-
tery while installed in vehicle.
These vehicles are equipped with a
VRLA battery (Valve Regulated Lead
Acid). It is a maintenance-free type
battery, there is no need to add water
to adjust electrolyte level.
NOTICE
Never remove the battery
sealing cap.
Battery Removal
Disconnect BLACK (-) cable first then
RED (+) cable.
NOTICE
Always
BLACK (-) battery cable first.
Remove retaining screws, battery
holding strap then pull the battery out
of frame.

Battery Cleaning
Clean battery, battery casing and bat-
tery posts using a solution of baking
soda and water.
Remove corrosion from battery cable
terminals and battery posts using a
firm wire brush.

Battery Installation
Battery installation is the reverse of the
removal procedure.
NOTICE
Always connect RED (+)
battery cable first.

Fuses

CAUTION Always turn the ig-
nition switch to OFF position before
replacing a defective fuse.
Fuse Inspection
Check if filament is melted.
If filament is melted, replace damaged
FUSE LOCATION

for proper rating.

NOTICE
Do not use a higher rated
fuse as this can cause severe dam-
age.
Front Fuse Box Location
Pull upwards and front to remove the
gauge support from its location.
