TIRE SAFETY TIPS

Preventing tire damage
DO NOT run over curbs or foreign objects in the roadway or when parking.
Slow down if you cannot avoid a pothole or other object in the road.
Tire safety checklist
1.
Check tire pressure (including the spare) before every trip.
2.
Inspect tires for uneven wear patterns on the tread, cracks, foreign objects, or any
other damage.
3.
Carefully remove bits of glass or foreign objects wedged in the tread.
4.
Check that all tire valves have valve caps.
5.
DO NOT overload your vehicle.
Check the Tire and Loading Information label.

TIRE MAINTENANcE

Proper tire maintenance improves the stopping distance, traction, steering, and load-carry-
ing capability of your vehicle. As mentioned above, to prevent flat tires and other types of
tire failure, you should maintain proper tire pressure, observe tire and vehicle load limits,
avoid road hazards, and regularly inspect your tires.
