PRoPANE GAS cYLINDERS

Propane gas, while under pressure in the cylinder, is compressed into its liquid form. As
the fuel is released from the cylinder, it changes from liquid to gas. Propane will not run
through the appliances in the liquid state. Propane expands 1½ percent for every ten de-
grees of increase in temperature.
IMPORTANT:
Sufficient space MUST be left inside the container to allow for natural
expansion of gas during warmer weather.
Propane cylinders are filled by weight, expressed in pounds. For filling, a qualified propane
facility is required, and cylinders must be removed from the RV.
When the propane system is not in use, each tank shutoff valve must be kept closed. To
close the propane tank shutoff valves: HAND TIGHTEN oNLY, do not use tools. Over-tight-
ening may damage the interior seals on the cylinder valve seat. If this type of damage oc-
curs, the cylinder will not close properly.
