Dismantling the cutting unit

Removing the belt pulley

1. Remove the locknut (10) and washer from the
cutting blade axle.
2. Take the belt pulley (11) off the cutting blade axle.
CAUTION
Fit the washer and locknut (10) back on to
prevent the cutting blade axle from falling to
the floor when removing the gear-toothed belt.
3. Fit the washer and locknut (10) back on the cutting
blade axle.

Removing the idler pulley

1. Remove the screw (9), lock washer and plane
washer.
2. Remove nut (1) and nut (2).
3. Remove the spring bracket (3).
4. Remove the nut (4), lock washer and plane washer,
and remove the idler pulley (5).
5. Remove the spacer ring (6) and the belt bracket (7).

Removing the gear-toothed belt

1. Unscrew the seven screws (12) and remove the
plastic cover from the cutting unit.
2. Remove the stop pin (15).
3. Back off the nut (13) on the adjusting screw to
slacken the gear-toothed belt.
4. Unscrew the screws (16) and (17) underneath
the plate a couple of turns.
