Changing the upper and lower
gear rod and elbow joints
Removing the upper gear rod
1. Loosen the nuts (2) a couple of turns.
2. Remove the elbow joints (1) and (4) together
with the gear rod (3).
3. Remove the elbow joints from the gear rod.
Fitting the upper gear rod
1. Fit the nuts (2) on the gear rod (3).
2. Fit the elbow joints (1) and (4) onto the gear rod
so that the distance between the elbow joints is
88 mm.
3. Fit the elbow joints and gear rod.
4. Lock the nuts (2) against the elbow joints, and
ensure that the distance is 88 mm.
Removing the lower gear rod
1. Loosen the nuts (6) a couple of turns.
2. Remove the elbow joints (5) and (8) together
with the gear rod (7).
3. Remove the elbow joints from the gear rod (7).
Fitting the lower gear rod
1. Fit the nuts (6) on the gear rod (7).
2. Fit the elbow joints (5) and (6) onto the gear rod.
3. Fit the elbow joint (5) on the pivot arm (9) and
set the length of the gear rod as follows:
A. Engage the reverse gear.
B. Set the gear link (11) to its right limit.
C. Adjust the elbow joint (8) to match the gear
link (11). The elbow joint is to be at 90°.
D. Fit the elbow joint (8) on the gear link (11).
Adjustment
1. Ensure that the length of thread from the elbow
joints is equal on both ends of the gear rod.
2. Lock the gear rod with the nuts (6).
