Changing the friction plate

Inspection
Check wear on the friction plate at regular intervals.
1. Remove the rear plate. (See page 64)
2. Check the size between the top of the belt pulley
and the top of the friction plate.
3. Thickness of the friction plate is to be at least
5.3 mm.
4. The friction plate is to be replaced if the
measured thickness is less than 5.3 mm. (See
below)
Dismantling
1. Release the idler pulley (1).
2. Remove the clutch lever (2) from the disc
assembly above the rear axle gear. (See below)
A. Hold the screw (3) with a screwdriver.
B. Remove the nuts (4) and (5).
CAUTION
Ensure that the clutch lever (2), ball holder
surface (6) and balls (7), are protected
against dirt.
C. Lift off the lever (2).
D. Move the ball holder (6) upwards to remove it.
