1 Introduction
The LaserLine must be properly handled in order to ensure successful operation and to represent
no risk to individuals.
Warranty claims become void, if the apparatus has not been used as indicated, – and in the case
of damages, liability will have to be assumed by the user.
2 Usage
The 743L30 LaserLine is an apparatus for checking the alignment of prostheses and orthoses.
3 Description of LaserLine
LaserLine consists of a triangle shaped basic unit with four built-in accumulators and a set-up
accommodating two diode lasers which permit accurate alignment of laser light projection within
the room (figs. 1 and 2).
It is operated by rechargeable accumulators and both lasers can be simultaneously activated for
about 4 hours without being connected to the mains. If only one laser is in operation, use of the
apparatus increases to 8 hours. Along with the LaserLine a charger is supplied, and the accu-
mulators are charged by this via the charging socket (1).
The lasers should not be activated during the charging procedure because the diodes might
be damaged due to current fluctuations.
The accumulators are charged when supplied.
The diode lasers may be turned on separately by two flip switches (2 and 3). In figure 1 the laser
light outlets are marked by A and B.
• switch "I" (2) (sign for "vertical") for the lower vertical laser, outlet A
• switch ">" (3) (sign for "angle") for the upper, rotatable laser, outlet B.
The housing with the laser diodes can be rotated in two directions in relation to the basis. The
horizontal alignment of the housing is provided by means of the adjustment screw (4) and the lock
button (5) as well as the longitudinal water level (6) and the cross water level (7).
By means of the rotation button (8) the upper beam can be turned to the left by 180° and to the
right by 45° about a horizontal axis.
The lower beam can be directed within the horizontal plane by means of antagonistic spring
control (9) for about ± 9°.
In order to apply LaserLine properly, Ottobock recommends to use the apparatus only together
with the stand. The stand was especially developed for this purpose (article no. 743X30) and
can be ordered as accessory.
4 Transport and Installation
LaserLine is secured in a transport box when being delivered. Installation is to be provided as follows:
