Connecting up to the Telephone Line

There are similar sockets located at the rear of the machine:
• TEL1: For the handset option or external telephone
• LINE: Telephone line connection

Insert the line cable into the socket.
Type 1: Insert the line into the socket labeled "LINE".
Type 2: Insert the line into the socket labeled "ISDN".

Connect the other end to your telephone line.
Important
By law in the United States, you must program your phone number iden-
tification (your CSI) into your machine before you can connect the public
phone system. See P.208 "Initial Settings (Function 61)"
