5.4. Communications

Select the Communications page to configure the Basic system
parameters, Network settings, E-mail settings, User setup, and
Maintenance functions.
Select the BASIC SETUP tab to configure the name of the supply,
configure the parallel operation settings, and set the date and time
and data-logging function of the power supply. Click on the Save
Settings button to record any changes made to parameters on this
page.
Device Name: Enter a unique descriptive name for the power supply
if desired. This name will be used in all alarm e-mails. The model and
hardware version are also shown here.
Parallel Operation: Configure the unit as the primary, or a
secondary unit within parallel connected sets. Also set a unique ID
number for each parallel unit (required) and enable parallel
secondary unit alarm e-mails if desired. See section 4.4 Advanced
Parallel Operation with TCP/IP Ethernet Operation for more
information.
Parallel Mode: Select Stand-alone, Primary or Secondary
mode here, to configure the mode of operation of the supply.
The default setting is for Stand-alone mode.
Device ID: Set a unique device ID (0 to 5) for units to be
used in a parallel array. Each unit is a set must have a
unique address set here, or a Parallel Error will be indicated.
Send Secondary Alarm E-mails: Tick this box on Primary
units to have the Primary forward all alarm e-mails from the
connected Secondary supplies. Use this feature to monitor
all units in a parallel set with a single Ethernet connection
made to the primary unit only.
Date and Time Settings: Check the current system date and time
here, and configure automatic or manual calendar and time settings.
Synchronize with NTP Server: Tick this box to have the unit
derive its calendar and time setting from the active network
connection.
