Procedure
Step 1 Check whether the camera works properly. Use a spare camera to check whether the old one
is faulty.


Step 2 Check the switch and its PoE function configurations. Observe the PoE indicator to check
whether the PoE is enabled.


Step 3 Check whether the cables to the camera are securely connected. Test the cables section by
section using a multimeter to check whether the cables are faulty.


Step 4 Check whether the IP address of the camera is correctly set.



4.3.5 Troubleshooting the Smoke Detector

Symptom
The smoke detector generates alarms constantly when no smoke is found onsite.
Possible Causes


Procedure
Step 1 Check whether the smoke detector is faulty. In an environment without smoke, use a
multimeter to measure the normally open and common terminals (base terminals NO and
COM), and check whether the multimeter buzzes.
Issue 01 (2016-10-18)
If yes, replace the camera and check whether the fault is rectified.
− If the fault is rectified, no further action is required.
