4.3.6 Troubleshooting the Alarm Beacon

Symptom
The alarm beacon does not generate an alarm when an alarm condition is triggered.
Possible Causes
Procedure
Step 1 Check whether the alarm beacon is faulty. When the alarm beacon is on, use a multimeter to
measure the voltage at both ends of the wiring terminal (12 V DC) of the alarm beacon, and
check whether the voltage is normal.
Step 2 Check whether the alarm beacon cable is properly connected to the skylight controller. Test
the cable section by section using a multimeter to check whether the cable is short-circuited or
open-circuited.

If yes, the smoke detector is faulty. Replace the smoke detector and check whether the
fault is rectified.
