Replacing the control panel in the 9040-MR9
To replace a control panel, complete the steps in this procedure.
1. Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on and that the ESD clip is plugged
into a ground jack or connected to an unpainted metal surface. If not, do so now.
2. Install the control panel into the front of the system as shown in the following figure.

3. Access the Advanced System Management Interface (ASMI).
Attention: During this procedure: Do not reset the service processor, do not remove the service
processor card, and do not power off and power on the system.
4. In the navigation area, select Concurrent maintenance > Control Panel.
5. In the ASMI Control Panel window, select the Install action and press Continue.
6. Verify that the location code D1 for the control panel is selected and then click Save Settings.
7. In the ASMI Control Panel window, press Continue.
