3. If the removed part is used again, place the part on an electrostatic discharge (ESD) mat.
The service processor card assembly is both the PCIe cassette like holder and the service processor
card within that holder. The service processor card assembly is replaced as a unit. Do not attempt to
remove the service processor card from the holder.
Replacing the service processor card assembly in the 9040-MR9 system
To replace a service processor card assembly in the system, complete the steps in this procedure.
1. Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on and that the ESD clip is plugged
into a ground jack or connected to an unpainted metal surface. If not, do so now.
2. Install the service processor card assembly.
a) Replace the service processor card assembly (A) as shown in the following figure. Open the latch
(B). Support the service processor card assembly from underneath and replace the service
processor card assembly into the system until fully seated. Clip the latch (B) into place to secure
the service processor card assembly.
b) Using your labels, replace the cables to the service processor card assembly.
