3.4 Solaris D2 digitizer

Functionality
The Solaris D2 digitizer processes (image processing, conversion, and conditioning) all source signals for digital distribution to every
tile in the Solaris LD display. The digitizer can be accessed directly or via the Solaris LD software. This control software is designed
as a user interface to be used in conjunction with the digitizer and the display. Communication between the local PC, running the
Solaris LD software, and the digitizer is realized through a serial RS232 connection.
The Solaris D2 digitizer can be mounted inside the housing of the Solaris LD display or, if desired, in a separated rack.
The maximum length of the DVI data cable used between the Solaris D2 digitizer and the first tile of the So-
laris LD display may not exceed five (5) meter. Neglecting this can result in non or bad performance of the
Solaris LD display.
