Necessary tools
Ratchet handle with short extension bar and 10 mm hexagon socket.
Necessary parts
Solaris LD tiles.
Tile fixation nuts (K).
Power split cables.
DVI-DVI data cables of 0,9 meter.
How to install all the Solaris LD tiles without back access to the display ?
1. Realize the power cabling of the already installed top and bottom row of tiles using power split cables. The power socket at the
rear of the tile is accessible via the opening in the precision frame underneath the tile. The power cabling must be done in a
horizontal direction and one power source cable must be used per row. (image 5-38)
Tip:
It's recommended to realize the power cabling from right to left seen from the front of the display, because the shape of
the power split cable allows easy cabling in this direction. This includes that the power box must be installed at the right
side of the Solaris LD display. Nevertheless, if desired the power box can be installed at the left side of the display and
the power cabling realized from left to right.
2. Plug in the data cables into the data ports of the tiles at the top and bottom row and start to realize the data path where possible.
Consult chapter: "Data cabling diagram of the Solaris LD display", page 60, to see the flow of the data path of the Solaris LD
display.
Note: Ensure that all data ports, of the top and bottom tiles, are connected with a data cable before starting to insert other tiles.
Ensure to fasten the thumbscrews of all the data cables connected with the data ports of the tiles.
3. Provide a power path, built with power split cables, in every open row (row without tiles) in the support structure. So, the power
loop trough connections from tile to tile are done before starting to insert the tiles. Ensure to provide one power split cable per
tile. (image 5-39)
4. Insert the next tile into the Solaris LD display. Follow the tile mounting sequence showed in image 5-37.
Note: The final approach of the tile into the precision frame must be at right angle.
5. Fasten the tile with four tile fixation nuts. Use a ratchet handle with short extension bar and 10 mm hexagon socket.
Tip:
See chapter "Locate and access the tile fixation nuts, power socket and data ports", page 65 to see the entranceway to
the nuts. Note that this action has to be done blindly.
Warning: Ensure that the tile is fasten with four tile fixation nuts.
6. Plug in the power plug of the power split cable behind the tile into the power socket of the tile.
Tip:
See chapter "Locate and access the tile fixation nuts, power socket and data ports", page 65 to see the entranceway to
the power socket.
7. Connect the data ports of the tile with the data cables of the neighboring tiles in the data path of the Solaris LD display. In case
a neighboring tile is not yet installed plug in a data cable into the data ports of the tile and let the other end of the data cable
temporary unconnected. Ensure to connected the tile correctly in the flow of the daisy chain data path. See chapter "Data cabling
diagram of the Solaris LD display", page 60.
Note: Ensure to fasten the thumbscrews of all the data cables connected with the data ports of the tile.
Tip:
See chapter "Locate and access the tile fixation nuts, power socket and data ports", page 65 to see the entranceway to
the data ports.
8. Repeat from step 4 until all tiles are mounted inside the Solaris LD display.
Before inserting a neighboring tile ensure that:
-
The previous inserted tile is tightly secured with four tile fixation nuts.
-
A power cable is plugged into the power socket of the previous inserted tile.
-
A data cable is plugged into the data ports of the previous inserted tile.
