INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS 2.1 Installation requirements for the Solaris LD display Size The Solaris LD display is delivered in several packages containing separate parts. Each individual part can pass through a standard door opening to gain easy access to the installation area. It’s obvious that the dimensions of the destination area must cover the physical dimensions of the Solaris LD display.

Installation requirements 2.2 Installation requirements for the Solaris D2 digitizer Requirements • The Solaris D2 digitizer should not be placed in a built-in installation or enclosure unless proper ventilation is provided. • When using the unit in a multi unit rack assembly or closed assembly, the ambient temperature inside the assembly may not exceed the maximum rated ambient temperature of the digitizer.

    There are three mounting configurations for the Solaris LD display. Freestanding, ceiling mount and wall mount. Depending on the chosen mounting configuration additional mounting accessories are required. These additional accessories are offered by Barco as mounting kits.

    3. System overview Image 3-2 Solaris LD display tile (8 millimeter: R9052700 ; 10 millimeter: R9052710). Re-sync unit Every tile contains a re-sync unit (A) which can easily be removed. The re-sync unit synchronizes the incoming data stream and sends it to the next tile. The data ports (B) on the re-sync unit are bidirectional. So, it doesn’t matter on which port the data is coming in, the re-sync unit switch the functionality of the data ports spontaneously between input and output.

    3. System overview chosen Solaris LD model, several precision frames has to be attached to the support frame to construct the complete Solaris LD support structure. This solid support structure provides the necessary mounting holes or fixation points for attachment of the tiles, the digitizer, the power box, the cladding, the foot and the suspension system.
  • Page 17 Cladding Barco provides a cladding system for a finishing touch of the sides and the rear of the Solaris LD display. This cladding system exist in painted metal plates and support brackets for attachment. The size and the number of the metal plates vary depending on the chosen Solaris LD model and the chosen mounting configuration.

    Input slots The Solaris D2 digitizer contains two input slots. Barco offers several types of input modules to be used with the Solaris D2 digitizer. Each input module is equipped with a active loop through output connector and two status LED’s.

    3. System overview 3.7 Solaris LD filter kit (optional) Functionality An optional filter kit can be installed in the bottom cladding of the Solaris LD display to clean the incoming air. Underneath every column of Solaris LD tiles a fan unit with a filter is installed. The fans are electrical connected with each other using the same kind of power split cables as used to power up the tiles.

    9.9 Replacing the fan of a Solaris LD tile Barco supply a spare part kit containing an internal fan plus steel plate for the Solaris LD tile. Kit order no. B5571981K. The fan has to be replace together with the steel plate.
  • Page 77 9. Servicing Image 9-13 SMPS fan connection. Image 9-14 Separate the power supply from the steel plate. Clean the inside of the tile with pressed air before closing up the tile. Always disconnect the wire unit of the fan before starting to blow out the dust. Otherwise, the fan may act as a generator and induce high current which can cause damage to the power supply unit.
