The period of guarantee begins on the date of transfer of risks, in the case of special systems and software on the date of commissioning, at latest 30 days after the transfer of risks. In the event of justified notice of compliant, Barco can repair the fault or provide a replacement at its own discretion within an appropriate period.
Structural & mounting components should be kept dry, clean, lubricated (only if recommended), coated properly, and otherwise maintained in a manner consistent with part design. Barco products must be used in a manner consistent with their design and inspected on a routine basis for security, wear, deformation, corrosion and any other circumstances that may affect the load handling capability of the part.

Safety 1.4 Specific important warnings for the Solaris D2 digitizer Warnings • Maximum ambient temperature: The maximum ambient temperature for this equipment is 40 °C. • This equipment MUST be earthed: In order to protect against risk of electric shock, the installation should be properly grounded. Defeating the purpose of the grounding type plug will expose you to the risk of electric shock.

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS 2.1 Installation requirements for the Solaris LD display Size The Solaris LD display is delivered in several packages containing separate parts. Each individual part can pass through a standard door opening to gain easy access to the installation area. It’s obvious that the dimensions of the destination area must cover the physical dimensions of the Solaris LD display.

Installation requirements 2.2 Installation requirements for the Solaris D2 digitizer Requirements • The Solaris D2 digitizer should not be placed in a built-in installation or enclosure unless proper ventilation is provided. • When using the unit in a multi unit rack assembly or closed assembly, the ambient temperature inside the assembly may not exceed the maximum rated ambient temperature of the digitizer.
There are three mounting configurations for the Solaris LD display. Freestanding, ceiling mount and wall mount. Depending on the chosen mounting configuration additional mounting accessories are required. These additional accessories are offered by Barco as mounting kits.

3. System overview Image 3-2 Solaris LD display tile (8 millimeter: R9052700 ; 10 millimeter: R9052710). Re-sync unit Every tile contains a re-sync unit (A) which can easily be removed. The re-sync unit synchronizes the incoming data stream and sends it to the next tile. The data ports (B) on the re-sync unit are bidirectional. So, it doesn’t matter on which port the data is coming in, the re-sync unit switch the functionality of the data ports spontaneously between input and output.
3. System overview chosen Solaris LD model, several precision frames has to be attached to the support frame to construct the complete Solaris LD support structure. This solid support structure provides the necessary mounting holes or fixation points for attachment of the tiles, the digitizer, the power box, the cladding, the foot and the suspension system.

Cladding Barco provides a cladding system for a finishing touch of the sides and the rear of the Solaris LD display. This cladding system exist in painted metal plates and support brackets for attachment. The size and the number of the metal plates vary depending on the chosen Solaris LD model and the chosen mounting configuration.
Input slots The Solaris D2 digitizer contains two input slots. Barco offers several types of input modules to be used with the Solaris D2 digitizer. Each input module is equipped with a active loop through output connector and two status LED’s.

3. System overview 3.7 Solaris LD filter kit (optional) Functionality An optional filter kit can be installed in the bottom cladding of the Solaris LD display to clean the incoming air. Underneath every column of Solaris LD tiles a fan unit with a filter is installed. The fans are electrical connected with each other using the same kind of power split cables as used to power up the tiles.

SET UP PROCESS OF A SOLARIS LD DISPLAY About this chapter This chapter describes roughly the installation process of the Solaris LD display per mounting configuration. The same processes are valid for the different sizes and resolutions of the Solaris LD models. Several process stages refer to one or more of the detailed "Installation procedures", page 23.

This is done by framing the extremities of the display by closing up the sides and the rear of the display using cladding parts. 5. Installation procedures 4. Fasten the four fixation nuts of both tiles and the four bolts of the precision frame. Ensure the seams between the tiles are minimized and equally for both tiles. (image 5-31) 5. Repeat from step 1 until all precision frames are installed. Install the precision frames sequentially from the middle to the sides of the display.

The design of the tile fixation bolt and nut allows a small correction in depth.

How to align the Solaris LD tiles in the Z-direction ? 1. Release the tile fixation nut of the most inner corner of the tile. Use a ratchet handle with short extension bar and 10 mm hexagon socket.

In case one tile corner stick out of the neighboring tiles, check if the tile positioning bolt of that corner is fasten (as far as possible turned clockwise). Sometimes, due to vibrations during transport, some tile fixation bolts get loose.

The side cladding plates have to be attached upon the previous installed side cladding support brackets. Basically there is no difference between the two side cladding plates, but one of those is equipped with two small removable plates (covers) which will allow easy access to the power box and the Solaris D2 digitizer afterwards.

7. Maintenance 7. MAINTENANCE 7.1 Cleaning the Solaris LD display How to clean the Solaris LD display ? 1. Switch of the Solaris LD display. 2. Clean the display side (LED’s) with a damp antistatic cloth. It’s recommend to use isopropanol alcohol as a solvent for cleaning the LED’s.
Check if the main switch at the rear of the digitizer is switched on. Wrong Solaris D2 digitizer settings Ensure the “Output selection” of the digitizer is set to : “Barco LED Wall”. in the Solaris LD configuration Ensure that “Start system LED-wall” is set to : “ON”.

Always disconnect the wire unit of the fan before starting to blow out the dust. Otherwise, the fan may act as a generator and induce high current which can cause damage to the power supply unit.
