RIGID DISK DRIVE INSTALLATION
CAUTION
The replacement of the rigid disk drive deletes all of
your current files from the machine.
Before
replacing the rigid disk drive. make sure all files are
backed up, either to a floppy or a file server.
1. Switch off system power and unplug the power
cord from the wall.
2.
Access the back of the processor.
3.
Remove the processor's rear cover by squeezing
the latches and swinging the cover down. An
inner wall is exposed.
4.
Unplug the AC and display power cords from
the power supply.
5.
Use a small screwdriver to pry the lower right of
the cover (your right as you face the rear of the
processor unit) at the pivot point between the
cover and the frame. Remove the cover.
6.
Unscrew the cable retention bar at the bottom
rear of the processor unit.
Remove all the
cables beneath the bar.
7.
Unscrew the disk drive retaining screw.
8.
Slide the rigid disk out of the processor.
Note:
Before installing the disk drive, write down
the model number and the bad page table
located on the disk drive.
