SYSTEM CONFIGURATION UTILITY
Your
1186
Artificial
Intelligence
workstation
consists
of
a
display,
keyboard,
and
other
components which you have selected from a variety
of options. These components, along with certain
software parameters, form a system configuration.
After installing the hardware, a description of your
particular system's configuration must be recorded
on your workstation processor for use by the
software. The System Configuration Utility is used
for this purpose.
If you are configuring an existing system that has
been upgraded and your Hardware Checklist in
Appendix A,
Hardware Configuration,
is not
up-to-date, proceed to Checking Your System
Configuration, and then continue to run the System
Configuration Utility.
The System Configuration
Utility must be run whenever a system component is
upgraded.
If you are configuri ng a new system, that is, you
have just completed installing your hardware and
have recorded all requested information on the
Hardware Checklist in Appendix A, Hardware
Configuration, proceed to the section" Runni ng the
System Configuration Utility".
If you have just installed the Control Store Upgrade
Kit on the Mesa Processor Board, you also need to
perform the tasks described in Appendix C, Control
Store Upgrade, in addition to the tasks described in
this chapter.
Note:
Hardware must be installed and powered
on
before
runni ng
the
System
Configuration Utility.
