Appendix A, Hardware Configuration.
Personal Computer Emulation (peE) Board
The PCE board consists of a sin91e circuit board that
fits into the 1186 processor unit. This option allows
many standard IBM Personal Computer programs to
be run on your 1186 system. The option may be
installed at the time of Initial system Installation or
may be installed as an upgrade to an existing
system.
The
Personal
Computer
Emulation
software
provides the necessary software to run IBM PC
programs.
First, unpack the PCE board, then follow the
procedures of the task you want to perform .
• To install a PCE board, follow the procedure
titled "Installing a
peE
Board in a NewSystem" .
• To upgrade your 1186 system with a PCE board,
follow the procedures titled "Upgrading an
Existing System with a PCE Board".

Unpack the box labeled Xerox PC Emulation
Option.
2.
Remove the plastic wrapping and foam packing
from the circuit board.
3.
Discard the packing.
