Chapter 15: Muting and Mute Groups

Muting

Channels can be muted in three ways: explicitly (lit solid),
with the channel mute switch; implicitly (flashing), as a result
of another channel being soloed, and as a member of a Mute
Group or VCA (flashing).
Mute switches always behave in additive (latched) fashion.
Channels can be muted in any sequence, and they will remain
muted until they are unmuted.
Muting Input Channels and FX Returns
Channel mute is pre-fader on Input Channels and FX Returns.
To control the mute status of an Input Channel or FX Return:
Press the Mute switch on the channel to toggle its mute sta-
tus. The Mute switch lights solid to indicate the channel is ex-
plicitly muted.
