3.2 Starting LinkTop and Connections
① Hook up the flowmeter transmitter, communication interface, and "LinkTop" pre-installed PC as
shown in Fig. 2.
② To initiate LinkTop, click "Start" at the bottom left of the PC screen and click "LinkTop for
MAG-OVAL" from "Program".
③ Click "Port setting (I) Ctrl + I" under "File (F)" from the menu.
Click here.
④ Set up the port.
Select the COM□ of the corresponding communication port from the "Port" drop-down list.
(□ shows the port number connected to the communication interface. If the corresponding
communication interface port number is unknown, open Windows Device Manager and find the port
number from the list of "Port (COM and LPT)".)
Then, select the corresponding specification (baud rate) from the "Speed" list in accordance with
the communication specifications of the flowmeter.
- In case of RS485 communication: Select RS485.
Choose the baud rate from 9600bps, 19200bps or 38400bps to meet the baud rate set for the
flowmeter. The standard baud rate set for the flowmeter is 19200bps.
(For the setting method of baud rate (RS485 communication speed) for flowmeter, refer to
"Electromagnetic Flowmeter MAG-OVAL III Instruction Manual".)
- In case of Bell202 communication: Select Bell202 (The baud rate for Bell202 is fixed.)
Finally, click "OK" .
