Configure process measurement using ProLink III
Tip
Damping affects all process variables that are calculated from the core process variable: specific
gravity, molecular weight, or relative density.
Procedure
Set Damping to the value you want to use.
The default value is 0 seconds. The range is 0 to 440 seconds.
Interaction between Damping and Added Damping
When the mA output is configured to report the core process variable (specific gravity,
molecular weight, or relative density), both Damping and Added Damping are applied to
the reported value.
Damping controls the rate of change in the value of the process variable in transmitter
memory. Added Damping controls the rate of change reported via the mA output.
If mA Output Process Variable is set to Specific Gravity, Molecular Weight, or Relative Density, and
both Damping and Added Damping are set to non-zero values, density damping is applied
first, and the added damping calculation is applied to the result of the first calculation. This
value is reported over the mA output.

Configure the molecular weight of air using ProLink III

ProLink III
Overview
The molecular weight of air is required for several different gas measurements. For most
applications, the default value can be used.
Procedure
Set Molecular Weight of Air to the value to be used in your application.
The default value is 28.95459 g/mol. This value is appropriate for most applications.
