Some of the standard configurations offers very wide functionality in means of number
of different functions available as part of the product configuration. It is possible to use
all of the offered functions at the same time.
However, if unused function blocks are removed from the configuration with the
Application Configuration, more resources in the IED can be used for other purposes,
for example :
• More advanced user application logic with Application Configuration
• Extensive use of GOOSE sending and receiving
• Increasing the amount of data reported for IEC 61850 clients
