8.3.5 DI (Digital In) Terminals
The Digital In terminal is suitable for direct connection to a passive switch. No barrier is required.
Connect only to passive (Un-powered) switch.
8.3.6 24 VDC IN (+) and (-)
The 24 VDC IN circuit is connected thru a Controller output type barrier, for example MTL 728.
8.4 Use in Dust Atmospheres
Dust-tight conduit seal must be used when installed in dust hazard environments.
8.5 Safe Guards for I.S. Barriers
A device which has previously been installed without an approved I.S. barrier must NEVER be used
subsequently in an intrinsically safe system. Installing the device without a barrier can permanently
damage the safety related components in the device making the device unsuitable for use in an
intrinsically safe system.
9 REPAIR
THE FLAME PATHS OF THE EQUIPMENT ARE NOT INTENDED TO BE REPAIRED.
CONSULT THE MANUFACTURER OF REPAIR OF A FLAME PATH JOINT IS NECESSARY.

9.1 Cover (display)
Make sure that:
The gasket is seated in the groove in the housing flange.
No wires or retaining cable can be trapped under the cover flange.
