NOTE:
The FP relay is incorporated in the ECM.
DETECTED FAILURE CONDITION
ITEM
The sensor voltage should be the fol-
lowing for 1 second and more.
0.17 V
sensor voltage < 4.73 V
In other than the above value, 23
(P1651) is indicated.
Sensor voltage is higher than specified
value.
Sensor voltage is lower than specified
value.
CKP sensor (pick-up coil) signal is pro-
duced, but signal from ignition coil is
interrupted 5 times or more continu-
ously. In this case, the code 24
(P0351) is indicated.
Gear position signal voltage should be
higher than the following.
Gear position switch voltage
If lower than the above value for 3 sec-
onds or more, 31 (P0705) is indicated.
CKP sensor (pickup coil) signal is pro-
duced, but fuel injector signal is inter-
rupted 8 times or more continuously. In
this case, the code 32 (P0201) is indi-
cated.
No voltage is applied to the fuel pump,
although FP relay is turned ON.
CKP sensor (pick-up coil) signal is pro-
duced, but signal from crankshaft rota-
tion signal sensor is not input for 3
seconds or more.

shorted to ground or VCC circuit

Ignition coil, wiring/coupler con-
nection, power supply from the
battery
GP switch, wiring/coupler con-

Fuel injector, wiring/coupler con-
nection, power supply to the
injector
FP relay, lead wire/coupler con-
nection, power source to FP
relay
Crankshaft rotation signal sen-
sor wiring and mechanical parts
Crankshaft rotation signal sen-
sor, lead wire/coupler connec-
tion
