Remote Configuration of Headset Parameters
You can remotely configure your Cisco Headsets settings for use with your on-premises phones. This is a
convenient way to set up or modify the default headset settings.
Remote Configuration is supported by:
• Firmware Release 12.5(1) and later
• Cisco Unified Communications Manager Software Releases 11.0(1), 11.5(1), or 12.0(1).
Remote Configuration is supported on the following Cisco headsets:
• Cisco Headset 531 and 532
• Cisco Headset 561 and 562
Note
The Bluetooth headset setting is enabled by default for use with Cisco Headset 561 and 562 with the Multibase.
If you do not plan to use the Cisco Headset 561 and 562 with the Multibase, then we recommend that you
download the JSON file, and disable the Bluetooth parameter.
Download the defaultheadsetconfig.json sample file from the Cisco Headset 500 Series section of the Cisco
Software Download website. The URL is
navigator.html?mdfid=286320550. The JSON file is stored with headset Firmware Release 1.0(2).
Edit the sample file using a text editor, and install the revised file on Cisco Unified Communications Manager
using the TFTP File Management tool. It takes 10 to 30-minute for the settings to be applied. Use the
documentation included with the sample file to guide you.
For more information on the TFTP service, see the "Manage Device Firmware" chapter of the Administration
Guide for Cisco Unified Communications Manager and IM and Presence Service.
