Configuring QSFP+ Transceiver Slots 17 and 21 for Breakout Cables

To configure the QSFP+ transceiver slots 17 and 21 for breakout cables,
perform the following procedure:
1. Start a local management session on the switch. For instructions, refer
to "Starting a Local Management Session" on page 101.
2. Move to the Global Configuration mode by entering the ENABLE and
CONFIGURE TERMINAL commands, as shown in Figure 58 on page
104.
3. Enter the PLATFORM PORTMODE INTERFACE command to
configure one or both QSFP+ transceiver slots for breakout cables.
The format of the command is shown here:
platform portmode interface ports 10gx4|40g
The PORTS variable specifies the QSFP+ transceiver slots for the
breakout cables, which are 1.0.17 and 1.0.21 on the x550 Ethernet
Switch Series. The 10gx4 parameter configures the slots for breakout
cables while the 40g parameter configures the slots for regular QSFP+
transceivers, which is the default.
This example of the command configures QSFP+ transceiver slot 17
for a breakout cable:
awplus(config)# platform portmode interface port1.0.17
10gx4
4. After configuring the transceiver slots, go to "Saving Your Changes
and Rebooting the Switch" on page 106.
