STEERING CYLINDER

WARNING

manual. Before starting any procedure, read all
warnings and instructions that are located in the
Service Guidelines chapter.

Remove and Install

Refer to front axle section.
The hydraulic system does not have to be bled. To expel
any air in the system, power up the pump and turn the
steering wheel fully in both directions.

Rebuild

Detailed rebuild procedure for the steering cylinder is not
available. Refer to Parts section for seal kit.
Refer rebuild to qualified hydraulic technician.

HYDRAULIC PUMP

WARNING

Remove

1: Disconnect the battery.
2: Disconnect the wires from the pump.
3: Remove the hydraulic hoses.
4: Remove the bolts holding the pump assembly to
the frame and remove the pump.

Install

Instal the pump in reverse order of removal.
Temporarily install a 3,000 PSI (200 bar) hydraulic
pressure gauge on the output line of the pump (see
illustration to the left).
The hydraulic system does not have to be bled. To expel
any air in the system, power up the pump and turn the
steering wheel fully in both directions several times.
Once all air has been expelled, the maximum system
pressure must be set.
1: Turn the start switch ON and place the shift lever
in forward.
2: Turn the steering wheel until it is locked (right or
left) and hold in position.
3: Adjust the pressure screw (see illustration) until
the maximum pressure is at 1,450 PSI (99.97
bars) then tighten the jam nut.
4: Turn the start switch OFF.
5: Remove the pressure gauge.
