REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

WARNING
This section is one section of a complete service
manual. Before starting any procedure, read all
warnings and instructions that are located in the
Service Guidelines chapter.

Remove

1: Raise the rear of the vehicle and support with jack stands.
2: Remove the wheels. Refer to procedure in "Tires and Wheels" section.
3: Disconnect the main hydraulic brake line.
4: Disconnect the parking brake linkage.
5: Disconnect the wires from the motor.
6: Disconnect the wires from the speed sensor.
7: Disconnect the thermal sensor wire (located in speed control compartment).
8: Place a suitable carriage under the transaxle and lower the vehicle so that the transaxle is on the carriage.
9: Remove the shocks.
10: Remove the suspension stops.
11: Remove the transaxle mounting pivot bolts.
12: Raise the frame and remove the transaxle assembly from under the vehicle.
13: Lower the frame to the ground or leave supported on jack stands.

Install

1: Position the transaxle assembly under the frame and install the two mounting pivot bolts. Do not tighten at
this time.
2: Lower the frame and install the suspension stops and shocks.
3: Reconnect the thermal sensor, speed sensor, and motor cables.
4: Reconnect the parking brake linkage and adjust the parking brake. Refer to procedure in "Brake Service"
section.
5: Reconnect the hydraulic brake lines and bleed the rear brakes. Refer to procedure in "Brake Service"
section.
6: Tighten the motor wire terminals per torque listed in the Hardware Torque table at the end of this section.
7: Install the wheels. Refer to procedure in "Tires and Wheels" section.
8: Lower the vehicle.
9: Reconnect the battery, remove the blocks from behind the wheels and test drive the vehicle.
