Configuring for Serial or IrDA Communications

The 5020 has an IrDA port to transmit data to and from a host computer via IrDA
communications. To convert the IrDA port to an RS-232 serial port, you need an L5020
serial communications adapter, a D5020 communications dock, or a serial input/output
(I/O) PC card.

Before you can use the 5020 for serial or IrDA communications, you need to connect
and configure the device. The next sections cover these topics:
Connecting the 5020 to Another Device
Configuring the Baud Rate
Once the 5020 is connected, you use Windows CE Services to establish a serial
connection between your desktop PC and a 5020 for browsing and file transfers. For
help, see Chapter 5, "Managing Your 5020."
