Transporting the printer
Use the original box and protective material to pack the printer for transport before
moving or shipping the printer for servicing.
1 Open the front cover and remove the Printhead.
• Place the Printhead in a plastic bag then tie or seal
the bag.
• If the optional Scanner Cartridge is installed,
remove it and place it in the storage container.
2 Close the front cover, push down the paper rest, and
push in the paper output tray.
3 Press the POWER button to switch the printer off.
After the POWER/ERROR lamp goes off, unplug the
printer.
• To prevent a printer malfunction, never

unplug the printer while the POWER/
ERROR lamp is lit or blinking.
4 Disconnect the printer or USB cable from the rear of
the printer and the computer.
5 Close the front cover and attach the tape to fasten the
front cover and the paper output tray.
6 Hold the printer on both ends with the protective
material as you place it in the box.
• Mark the box "FRAGILE" or "HANDLE WITH

CARE".
