1. & 2. IR Remote Input and Output
Connect a remote IR detector (eye) to this input. This is especially useful if your RMC-1 is located
in a cabinet or other area where the front panel IR detector is blocked. Connect a remote IR
transmitter ("blaster") to this output to control other equipment.
Note: When the RMC-1 is On or in Standby, it always "listens" for IR remote control codes. If
configured to do so, the RMC-1 can accept remote control codes intended for other devices via
its front panel and remote IR inputs, and relay remote control codes intended for other devices
via its IR remote control outputs. Because this capability is always active, the Standby button
on the RMC-1 will flicker to indicate that it is receiving remote control codes when you operate
IR remote controls for OTHER devices within range of its sensors; this is normal.
Note: The IR In port on the RMC-1 must be connected to a powered IR detector - or "eye".
(Appropriate IR detectors include a small circuitry module that provides a buffered output
signal. In many cases, you will connect the RMC-1 to the output which is intended for
connection to an IR "flasher" or "repeater".)
