Lip Synch Delay
The Lip Synch Delay setting is used to manually configure the Lip Synch Delay.
Note: The optimum Lip Synch Delay can vary with different program material from different
sources; the automatic configuration is designed to compensate for this, and so is usually
the best option. The Lip Synch Delay is normally only configured manually if the automatic
configuration fails to work properly with certain source equipment and/or a certain display or
projector.
Note: Setting Lip Synch Auto overrides the ability to set a Lip Synch Delay manually; if Lip Synch
Auto is checked, you will NOT be able to enter a value in the Lip Synch Delay field.
Button
The Button setting allows you to configure a direct access button for this Input (on the front panel
and the remote control).
None assigns no button to the Input.
1 - 8 assigns that button on both the front panel and the remote control to that Input.
(Only buttons 1 through 7 exist on the remote control; button 8 exists only on the front panel.)
Note: You may wish to assign button 8 to an Input that you only use "locally", such as a
Reference CD player located in your equipment rack, or the front panel analog input.
2.0 Mode & 5.1 Mode
The 2.0 Mode setting determines what mode will be used by default when a two channel signal is
received at this Input. The 5.1 Mode setting determines what mode will be used by default when
a surround sound signal is received at this Input. Setting these to Auto will instruct the RMC-1 to
use the "best" option, based on your speaker configuration, and the incoming content - and is
usually a good choice.
Note:
Only certain decoding options are available for each different type of input signal; the options
you enter here instruct the RMC-1 of your preference for how certain types of inputs will be
handled, but will only be used IF they are valid for the input signal currently being received.
For example....
- If the input signal is Dolby Atmos: the ONLY valid decoder mode for it is Dolby Atmos.
- If the input signal is DTS:X: the ONLY valid decoder mode for it is DTS:X.
(For both of those, your only options would be Direct, All Stereo, and Auto.
If you've selected Stereo, then, after being decoded, the results will be down-mixed to stereo.)
- If the Input signal is Dolby TrueHD, or DTS Digital, and you have chosen Surround as your
default choice, then each will be decoded by the appropriate decoder, but no upmixing will be
applied. (If the original is 5.1, and you have 7.1 speakers, it will simply play in 5.1).
