Note on FILE FORMATS AND NAMES: All of the individual XML files containing the settings for
each channel MUST be placed into a single folder on your USB stick; and the folder must have
the appropriate name for the Speaker Preset into which you plan to import it.
Files for import into Speaker Preset 1 must be placed in a folder named "filtersPreset1".
Files for import into Speaker Preset 2 must be placed in a folder named "filtersPreset2".
Note: if you find the file naming and folder conventions confusing, it may be easier to Export
Filters from the RMC-1 first, which will create the appropriate folders and files on your USB
stick, then simply replace the files you wish to update.
Note: The RMC-1 can only Import Filters and Export Filters using a USB thumb drive. You
CANNOT use the internal storage on the RMC-1 for this purpose.
Note: Each XML file internally contains information that identifies which channel it goes with,
but NOT the name of the associated Speaker Preset. So, for example, the export file named
"rightFront.EMO" is internally identified as being for a Right Front Speaker, but it can be used
with either Speaker Preset 1 or Speaker Preset 2, depending on the name of the folder in which
you place it on the USB stick.
You CAN alter the file to be applied to a different speaker, but to do so you will have to both
rename the file AND alter the XML item text inside the file which identifies the speaker it was
created for.
Note: When the RMC-1 is instructed to Import Filters, it will read all filter files present in the
appropriate folder, and replace the settings in the RMC-1 with those contained in the files. Files
that are missing will be ignored, and the settings for the channels associated with the missing
files will remain unchanged. If you wish to import REW settings for only certain speakers,
simply create filter setting files for only those channels; the settings in the files present will be
imported and will replace the current settings in the RMC-1 Speaker Preset for those channels,
while all other speaker settings in that Speaker Preset will remain unchanged.
Note: If you wish to individually import REW correction settings for specific channels, and clear
all other channels, simply do a Reset Filters to clear all settings for that Speaker Preset, then
individually update the settings for any individual channels. You can use this method to update
channels one at a time.
