The RMC-1 Menu System
Note: CEC is a system that allows various audio and video components to issue commands to
each other; for example, your Blu-Ray player may use CEC to instruct the RMC-1 to switch on
and select its input when you insert a disc and press play. Many equipment manufacturers
implement some form of CEC control, although they may call it something else, and the
features and capabilities of each vary. Because each vendor interprets the CEC standard
differently, CEC can cause unexpected and undesired things to happen.
The RMC-1 allows you to individually enable or disable several different CEC functions,
allowing you to use the CEC features that prove useful in your system, while avoiding unwanted
and unexpected interactions.
Note: The Audio Return Channel (ARC) feature on many TVs requires CEC in order to operate.
Therefore, if you fully disable CEC on the RMC-1, you will probably not be able to configure ARC
as your audio source.
Note: You do NOT need to have CEC Enabled in order to use Video on Standby Mode; and fully
disabling CEC should NOT affect the audio on your TV when you're in Video on Standby Mode.
