Safety Function Calculations

SISTEMA
SISTEMA is a free program that is used to determine the safety function
values per ISO 13849. Many devices are preloaded into a
Rockwell Automation library. The DG relay and taps were loaded into a local
library, based on the safety data in
Appendix
C. These devices will be available
in a future update of the Rockwell Automation library.
Figure 67
shows the first two safety functions. To generate the remaining
functions, you can simply copy and paste these functions back into the project
and then change the input device.
To achieve a PLe rating and a 20-year mission time, the system is limited to
65,000 operations each year. The limiting component is the 100S contactors,
which are driving the motor load. The E-stop has a limitation of 12,000
operations per year.
